The National Toboggan Championship 2026 was a banger. We had so much fun, ate so much food, and competed in the ultimate Après Ski team sport - The Shotski.
The legendary Shotski isn’t just a party trick—it’s a mountain tradition with roots deeper than fresh powder. From its origins in the Austrian Alps as a test of coordination (the "Schnappski") where the glasses are NOT connected to the ski, to the DIY 1970s ski bums of Vermont and Utah, it’s a mountain staple.
Whether you’re honoring the Norse god Ullr or just celebrating a long day on the slopes, the rules remain the same: Tip together or get soaked together. Don't forget to mind your short teammates - they'll need your help.
