Some of the best dishes in Midcoast Maine- Yeah, I said it...
Set right in the heart of downtown and Rockland Harbor, the restaurant blends that casual, salty, harbor-town vibe with a menu that leans hard into local flavor.
Owner, Larry Reed is always there making sure the dishes are cooked and served to perfection, and guests are always enjoying.
You’ll usually find the place buzzing, especially on warm days when the deck fills with people enjoying the breeze off Rockland Harbor. Inside, it’s relaxed and unfussy—exactly what you’d expect from a waterfront hangout where the priority is good food, cold drinks, and a stellar view.
The dishes we can’t get enough of are the lobster corn chowder, French dip prime rib sandwich, haddock cakes, coconut shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops, chicken Caesar salad, southwest blackened chicken wrap, and chicken carbonara, but you can also always order the more classic fresh Maine seafood dishes that deliver that dependable Downeast comfort.
They also offer an incredible Sunday brunch buffet!
Our bartender was Megan, and she was awesome. She was fast, attentive, happy, and even gave the owner a little ridicule in jest for him to get the heck out of a bar seat so one of the locals could belly up.
They keep things fun. Local craft beers, inventive and sturdy cocktails (not all sugar like most of the tourist traps. The staff keeps the energy light—friendly, quick with a recommendation, and always on top of refills.
Dry Dock isn’t trying to reinvent Maine dining—it’s celebrating it. Great seafood, harbor views, classic coastal atmosphere, and service that makes you feel like a regular, even if you’re just dropping in for the first time.
If you’re in Rockland looking for a laid-back place to enjoy some of the best food in midcoast Maine, this spot is an easy yes.
