SO, this past weekend I was driving in Camden and stumbles across this killer bakery stand, so I pulled over, bought some goodies, and had a chat with the owner....

If you find yourself driving down Wiley Road in Camden, you need to pull over at number 70. There is a charming new addition to the local food scene that is as inspiring as it is delicious: Moose Cookie Co.

Founded by Ava Deane, a 16-year-old junior at Camden Hills Regional High School, this wheel-mounted farmstand is the result of a New Year’s resolution and a lifelong passion for baking. Ava has been in the kitchen since she was five years old, learning the ropes from her family before falling in love with the art of the "new recipe."

The Stand & The Story

Inspired by Pinterest and a DIY spirit, Ava designed and built the stand herself. She opted for a mobile design on wheels—a smart move for Maine winters—and it’s currently a true community effort. While Ava "destroys" the kitchen every Friday (and cleans it up!), she’s supported by her mom and her friend Miley, who helps with everything from grocery runs to rolling out dough.

The name "Moose Cookie Co." comes from a special place: Ava’s dog, Moose, whom she bought last September. It’s a personal touch that makes the stand feel like it's from the heart.

What’s on the Menu?

The offerings change from week to week, but there is always a fantastic variety of sweet and savory treats.

Sourdough Specials: Baguettes, bagels, and classic loaves.

Sweet Treats: Brownies, cookies, muffins, granola, and hot cocoa bombs.

The Star Attraction: You have to try "The Mooie Gooey." It’s a chocolate peanut butter swirl cookie finished with a white chocolate drizzle. It is easily the standout favorite.

The Mission

What’s even more impressive than the sourdough is the goal behind it. Ava is currently saving 50% of her profits every single weekend to fund a permanent farmstand shed. When you buy a cookie here, you aren't just getting a snack; you’re helping a young local entrepreneur expand her dream.
